Freddie Tsang    PRINCIPAL DESIGNER

Freddie gained his first professional design experience at a design consultancy in Toronto in 1983 after receiving a travelling scholarship from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He began his career immediately upon graduation. His focus was on consumer electronics and toy design before immigrating to Canada. Freddie has served British Columbia Industrial Design Association (BCID) as treasurer for three terms. He founded ByMethod Design in 2008. Freddie's design experiences stretch across many grey areas overlapping with industrial design and mechanical design. His vast knowledge base enables him to guide the clients through the entire product development cycle. He is a firm believer in the value of being organized and setting up sensible design approaches. His design methodology is based on the analysis of project requirements and implementation of these proven approaches. Freddie values the balance of having a healthy career and joyful lifestyle. He is a club player of both squash and badminton. Staying fit is his key to perform well at work.

Alvin Mak    SR. INDUSTRIAL DESIGNER

Alvin has a strong passion for design. He holds a degree in Industrial Design from Emily Carr University of Art and Design. Upon his graduation in 2008, he has been immediately involved with ByMethod as an industrial designer. Alvin enjoys broadening his horizons with new design technologies, conquering design challenges, bringing innovative inspirations into reality. He shares the belief with ByMethod that great product designs are often the result of a fusion of creativity, problem-solving tactics, and precise mechanical detailing. Language proficiency includes English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. When not in work mode, Alvin enjoys cooking, travelling and spending time with his family.
